Hot and cold contrast therapy helps both body and mind.
Cold water immersion- Restricts blood vessels lowering blood pressure, reduces imflamation, stress and muscle tension. Full body immersion activates the vegas nerve which helps to ehance mood, reduce stress and enhance overall wellbeing.
Hot therapy- Dialates vessels improving blood pressue and carries essentail nutrients and oxygenated blood to the muscles to reduce muscle soreness. Hot water therapy also reduces cortesel levels, and burns calories
There is no one size fits all approach but we recommend with 1-2min cold immersion alternating with the heat, then building up to 4-6 min.
